Nine Sols is a hand-drawn 2D action-platformer blending Eastern mythology and cyberpunk aesthetics in a “Taopunk” world. Inspired by Sekiro, its deflection-based combat requires precision, timing, and strategy as players wield martial arts, Taoist talismans, and a godly bow to defeat powerful deities and monstrous bosses.

Set in the lore-rich realm of New Kunlun, players go on a vengeful hero’s journey to slay the 9 Sols, rulers of a forsaken land. With visually stunning hand-drawn environments, epic boss battles, and secrets of a lost alien civilization to uncover, Nine Sols offers a unique fusion of storytelling, combat, and exploration.

The game did not only launch for console but it also did on Xbox Game Pass, offering its members free access to the game. Starting November 26, players with active subscription for Game Pass PC, Console, or Ultimate can play Nine Sols for free. Being that this is a day-one launch, Standard members will have to wait for the game to find its way to their catalog.

Nine Sols is the 15th title to join Game Pass this month. As of writing, only Aliens Dark Descent is left on the list but not for long. It will be added to the catalog tomorrow and will mark the last game to enter the service. Unless of course a surprise addition happens.
