During its global playtest, DARKEST DAYS attracted over 57,000 players from 107 countries, a rare feat for any genre let alone one often claimed to be saturated. It’s not just player participation that’s growing, the game has also now surpassed 200,000 wishlists on Steam, showing it has struck a serious chord with fans hungry for survival, story, and action.
Now, the next stage begins. It’s not a full launch just yet but it’s a major step forward.
DARKEST DAYS Open Beta Test Starts On April 24th
Developer NHN has officially announced that DARKEST DAYS will enter its Open Beta Test on April 24th. This move is not only great for the devs to fine-tune their vision, but even better for players eager to dive (or dive back) into the grim post-apocalyptic world where choices matter and survival is never guaranteed.
The game already made headlines during Steam Next Fest, earning a spot among the “Most Anticipated Upcoming Games” and “Most Played Demos”. Just with that alone, if you weren’t able to participate in the previous betas, now is your chance.
Players can pre-register now via the official website. You can choose to join on mobile or PC, and all it takes is an email address and being at least 16 years old. While registration will remain open beyond April 24, there’s a strong incentive to sign up early. Pre-register before the 24th and receive an Apocalypse Survival Essential item which is an in-game vehicle: a taxi.
Best part? This open beta has no time limits and no content restrictions. You can explore, fight, and survive to your heart’s content until the official launch. Even better, your progress will carry over to the full version, so every battle and every survivor you recruit during OBT will matter.
Oh and for an added bonus, you can even now head to the official website and dive into a free survival mini-game to get a taste of the chaos.
DARKEST DAYS is available on mobile and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. The game invites you to seek hope in a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by a deadly virus. You’ll step into the shoes of a fragile survivor, using sharp shooting skills or explosive firepower to fend off relentless zombies while building a safe haven alongside other survivors. As you journey through eerie ghost towns and icy landscapes, you’ll uncover the mystery behind the outbreak, utilize vehicles for exploration and combat, and engage in co-op or competitive zones for critical resources.
