Yesterday was intense and exciting for all Xbox users. We all know that Xbox Games Showcase 2024 was going to be a bomb but in reality, it was actually nuclear!
A total of 30 games were featured in the event including much awaited titles, confirmation of rumors, and big updates on big games. Probably the most talked about leading up to the showcase was the materialization of Gears 6. Gears of War is indeed in the lineup but it’s not what everyone thought of; it’s not actually 6 but it’s GoW: E-Day. Some haven’t completely dropped the idea of Gears 6 but one thing is for sure, we can definitely put some of that excitement to the now confirmed E-Day.
Updates, expansions, and added content were also announced including Diablo IV: Vessel of Hatred, Sea of Thieves Season 13, and Fallout 76: Skyline Valley.
But what most Xbox gamers followed was the announcement of which games will join Game Pass. It wasn’t so long ago that subscribers were on the lookout for this event to reveal this month’s wave 1 additions but that was revealed ahead of the event. In fact, none of the titles confirmed for GP are getting added this month. The earliest is Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn which will join Flock, Magical Delicacy, Dungeons Of Hinterberg, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, and much-awaited Frostpunk 2 in July.
Of the 30 featured games, 18 are confirmed to enter Game Pass on day-one. This includes Call of Duty Black Ops 6 which was speculated to do so but still created waves when it was announced as it is a monumental event, being the first CoD game to join Game Pass and even on release day. The game is scheduled to release on October 25, 2024.
Also on the list is the much-awaited installment of a great long-running franchise. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is confirmed as a day-one launch but the actual release date was not announced. It is however shown as launching this year. Avowed also shares the same fate of confirmed day-one launch but with no concrete release date apart from it’s this year.

With all these confirmed (and more to be added) titles, Game Pass just doubled down on its supremacy in the gaming world. Playstation may have had some great news during Days of Play but they might need to do more to sway gamers to their side.

XBOX Showcase was a blast, it became more awesome with every trailer, that feeling that if you went to get water or just blinked you may lose an awesome announcement had no price and got us all glued to the screen. Congrats, even if know I may only play 1 or 2 of those games it was totally worth, and with friends on discord even more.
