THQ Nordic finally confirms the arrival of Wreckfest 2, which will enter Early Access this March!

Wreckfest 2 (WF 2) is the new chapter of the THQ Nordic series developed by Bugbear. The historic team behind the beloved demolition derby series FlatOut. With the first Wreckfest released in the summer of 2018 on PC and the following year on PS4 and Xbox One.

Bringing back a new series of games inspired by Demolition Derby. It received strong positive feedback from fans due to even more fun destruction physics, without neglecting the strategic aspect during races. As well as a solid vehicle customization system.

Wreckfest 2: Early Access Confirmation on PC

Revealed by THQ Nordic during the Digital Showcase in August 2024, there was no further news on Wreckfest 2. Fortunately, the team released big news on February 4, 2025, confirming the arrival of the new chapter in Early Access on PC.

The Early Access on Steam is set for March 20, 2025. Along with the Announcement Trailer, showcasing crazy races full of destruction in Demolition Derby style. The Early Access will be available on PC first, but will later be released on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Most likely with the official game launch, just like with the first game.

Wreckfest 2: What the New Chapter Offers

WF 2 offers a sequel that improves upon all aspects of the previous and well-loved chapter. Offering:

• Improved Physics: Thanks to the new ROMU engine version, we will experience even more intense game physics, with greater accuracy in damage and impact during races.
• Vehicle Customization: A huge amount of customization options both aesthetically and with a focus on your playstyle.
• Revamped Game Modes: A revamp of the core game modes such as Racing, Derby, and Multiplayer. Plus, support for Mods will be added.

Wreckfest 2 – What the Early Access Offers

The Bugbear team has confirmed some of the content available in Early Access, including Racing, Derby, and Multiplayer modes at launch. Challenge and Tournament modes will be added during the EA period. Not to mention a Career Mode coming soon.

Mods support, new vehicle customizations, and of course, new tracks and arenas will be added. Further details on the development roadmap will be shared after the Early Access launch of WF2.

A great piece of news for fans of the first Wreckfest, who will get their hands on the new chapter this March. They’ll be able to actively participate in giving feedback for the game’s development, and dive into new modes, as well as modding. The crazy races and destruction of Wreckfest 2 will be ready on March 20, 2025!
