WoW: Season of Discovery – Guide to a successful New Classic Adventure

With the Season of Discovery, announced back at BlizzCon in August, the new update will finally hit WoW Classic on the 30th November. What makes this particular update interesting is that Season of Discovery shakes up the experience by putting a level cap in each phase, changing certain limits of dungeons and gears. What is WoW: Season of Discovery

Season of Discovery is a brand new adventure for the WoW Classic project, which aims at bringing back the classic core experience of the 2004 World of Warcraft in a modern updated version. This particular update will be divided into 4 phases, in order to cover the period before the launch of Cataclysm.

The first phase will put a level cap at 25 and adjust a few dungeons as well as new gear to get. This restriction will change the formula and approach of certain dungeons, as well as the viability of certain classes. Ashenvale PvP Guide

As part of the Season of Discovery new PvP event will take place in Ashenvale. Starting the event is simple, just by triggering PvP kills in the area you’ll receive a notification. Then a leader for the opposing Faction will spawn. With smaller camps and outposts erected in the areas. Destroying towers and clearing encampments will spawn these Leaders, which upon being defeated will end the event.

Participating in the event will net you Honor Points as well as reputation to your respective Warsong Gulch faction. Rewards are some of the best gear at level 25 for Phase 1, as well as the Ashenvale unique mounts: Trainee’s Sentinel Nightsaber or Trainee’s Outrider Wolf.

Professions in Season of Discovery

In Season of Discovery it is important to set a profession while leveling up. Although you won’t be able to max them as you’ll be limited to 225 skill level, you’ll still have access to the most important craftable at the level cap of 25. This is rather helpful as while some items can be found in some areas, they’ll be hard to drop considering the risks involved with the level cap. Like Mining, Herbalist and Skinning providing resources to Blacksmiths, Alchemists and Leatherworkers respectively.
