WoW Roadmap 2024: Full Content Breakdown of SoD, Classic & Retail

Just a few days ago, Blizzard, which we recall has been acquired by Microsoft a few months ago, released the entire roadmap for World of Warcraft showing what’s coming in 2024.

The roadmap covers both Wow Classic and Retail with Cataclysm, divided into seasons, with the standout being the Autumn 2024 session for the End Game Content of the Season of Discovery for World of Warcraft Classic. Also highlighted is the celebration of the 20th Anniversary of World of Warcraft with The War Within updates.

WoW Classic Roadmap: Season of Discovery throughout 2024

Blizzard proudly showcases the new roadmap for WoW Classic, continuing with the new Season of Discovery content that will span almost the entirety of  2024. The new year will kick off with a bang, or rather the chill of the Ruby Sanctum Raid from Wrath of the Lich King, followed immediately (likely in March) by the second Phase of Season of Discovery, raising the level to 40, introducing new runes and PvP events accompanied by the Gnomeregan Raid.

In Spring, Hardcore Classic players can enjoy the Self-Found Mode, imposing rules and restrictions that make the game more challenging to grind but also more rewarding to level up with these constraints. In other words, it’s for the true Hardcore players of WoW Classic. Alongside this, there will be the second Phase of Season of Discovery.

Summer will see the much-anticipated debut of Cataclysm Classic, a significant update that could profoundly shake the community again, potentially causing further community fragmentation or instead solidifying the Classic experience if properly handled by the team. Following that, in Autumn, the last phase of SoD and more Cataclysm contents.

WoW Roadmap: The War Within, the eagerly awaited new content and more

Modern WoW also has a substantial number of updates planned for 2024. We begin in January with Seeds of Renewal featuring the Epilogues of the Dragon Isles and dedicated content, moving on to the first period of The War Within Alpha.

In Spring, the Fourth Season of Dragonflight will begin, with new PvP events and, of course, new rewards to obtain! In Summer, the pre-patch of The War Within will start with the initial content leading to the actual launch to follow.

The launch includes 8 New Dungeons, 4 New Zones, a New Campaign Story, New Raids, a New PvP Season, and much more. This will continue until the Autumn period and will culminate with the highly anticipated 20th Anniversary of World of Warcraft in November 2024.

Blizzard’s team surprised a bit with the decision to open a new section of the forum and select a closed number of passionate WoW players, where they can discuss and provide feedback regarding the game. All of this is done in the hope that they take the community’s feedback seriously.
