Tribes 3: Rivals is the latest game in the Tribes series, which has been around since 1998. The last installment in the series, Tribes: Ascend, released in 2012, was very popular among fans. Tribes 3 is being developed by the studio Prophecy Games and is set to be released soon. Here you will find everything about this game.
Main Information
Early Access for Tribes 3 is scheduled to start on March 12th.
You can already participate in the Closed Beta through Steam.
The system requirements for the game have been released.
What is Tribes 3?
Tribes 3 calls itself the fastest shooter, and that describes it very well. You can move in your Mech at incredibly high speeds. It is a multiplayer first-person PvP game. The main mode is Capture the Flag, so you have to steal the flag from the enemy base and bring it back to your base without dying.
For movement, you have a jetpack available, allowing you to move freely around the map. Additionally, you can build more momentum by sliding on the ground, accelerating even further.
There are various classes available, each equipped with different weapons. Light classes are the fastest but also have the least armor and can be quickly defeated. Medium classes are very balanced in firepower and mobility. Heavy classes are the slowest but also have the most firepower and can withstand the most damage. So they are perfect for defending your flag against fast opponents.
Tribes 3 has placed a special focus on the environment, so the 7 different maps available at release do not look boring and empty. There will be a competitive mode where you play 7 vs 7 players and a casual mode where 16 vs 16 battles will take place.
What’s Coming in the Future
After Tribes 3 releases on March 12th in Early Access, the game will naturally continue to be developed. The developers have announced plans to introduce custom matches and additional modes into the game as soon as possible. In Custom Matches, you can create your own lobby and play only with friends. The team size is not fixed.
With the new modes, the developers aim to maintain the core of the game, including the special gravity and freedom of movement, but develop modes other than just Capture the Flag. Something like Team Deathmatch or similar is conceivable, but there are no further details yet.
