BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment’s next smash-hit, Tales of Arise, is finally due to launch on September 9, 2021, after a long delay.

Tales of Arise is an action-JRPG from BANDAI NAMCO set in a fantasy world where the planet Dhana has been ruled by the planet Rena for 300 long years.
The game begins with Alphen, a slave from Dhana, and Shionne from Rena becoming unlikely friends and recruiting members to their cause as they look to overhaul their oppressors.
Tales of Arise is very much a JRPG at its core, with stylish and over-the-top action, magic, and a wide range of cast members that would not interact with one another in any other medium.
The two planets reflect the narrative, with the slave planet Dhana more based around medieval times and Rena much more advanced.
In theory, it’s a good way to build up the skills and abilities of the protagonist, as beginning on Dhana, you must learn to hunt, fish, and scavenge. As you improve your skills, you will learn to use advanced weaponry and items before taking on Rena and the tyrants.
Tales of Arise was initially shown at E3 2019 but was delayed due to development challenges only made worse by COVID-19.
It was delayed indefinitely by BANDAI NAMCO, with fears that it could mean the end of the game after it completely went dark through 2020.
Fortunately, that all changed earlier this year when the game suddenly reappeared with a brand new trailer revealed at gamescom 2021 during Opening Night Live.
It even got nominated for Best Role-Playing Game at the gamescom Awards 2021, only finishing runner up to Elden Ring.
Now, the game is finally launching, and you can play the 17th title in the Tales series from September 9, 2021.
Tales of Arise is available to buy now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
