After the community’s disappointment over the delay of Season 4 of Season of Discovery, the seasonal event of World of Warcraft Classic that brings a new experience for everyone on Blizzard’s famous MMO, it seems there is some movement from the team thanks to the latest patch 1.15.3.
Season of Discovery Phase 4, which was supposed to arrive just in time for Summer, has instead been delayed by a few weeks, thus extending Phase 3, which is still active. Phase 4 was supposed to kick off the second part of Cataclysm content and then conclude the year with the End Game for SoD.
But unfortunately, with an official announcement on 17th May 2024, the team behind WoW Classic announced that Phase 4 of Season of Discovery would be delayed by a few weeks. That is because the team is working to bring the best possible experience for Phase 4, while also working to implement subsequent Cataclysm Classic content as well.
Although we do not yet have a date for Phase 4 of SoD, we do know there is some movement. As announced in the 17th May announcement, the team intends to hold a PTR test dedicated to classes and combat. And just a few days ago, the new Patch 1.15.3.55009 on their internal server suggests that the team is indeed testing Phase 4 content, given that publicly SoD Phase 3 is on 1.15.2.55002. As confirmed by Josh Greenfield, Senior Game Producer of WoW Classic, in a recent tweet.
Certainly good news for many, and it seems that Season of Discovery will continue with Phase 4 very soon, with an official announcement from the team in the coming days. A Phase 4 which we already discussed in our article: WoW SoD: What’s Next After Reaching Level 60?
