Smite 2 is now free-to-play as the third-person MOBA begins its open beta stage. While still in Early Access, Smite 2’s open beta includes dozens of Gods and multiple game modes. It’s available on PC and consoles.
Smite 2 has finally entered its open beta, making it free-to-play for PC and consoles. Launched into Early Access in August 2024, the third-person MOBA featuring gods and mythical creatures is now available for all to try.
Developed in Unreal Engine 5, Smite 2 builds upon the success of its predecessor with enhanced graphics, a revamped combat system, and new mythology-inspired characters. Boasting 40 million players already, the new free-to-play model allows anyone to join the action. It has already set a new all-time concurrent player peak on Steam at 12,836 players, up from a daily peak of around 2000.
What’s New in Smite 2?
Now that Smite 2 is free, there are a total of 45 Gods to try out, including Aladdin, six game modes, and 20 Aspects that allow for a more customized experience and unique playstyles.
Although the roster is currently smaller compared to Smite’s 130 Gods, months of closed alpha feedback from players mean those entering the open beta can expect an optimized game with core mechanics fine-tuned already. You can check out the open beta trailer below.
How to Join the Open Beta
Those wanting to try it can download it on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The MOBA is still in Early Access, meaning there will be more Gods added in the future, along with more game modes and content, including balance updates.
