Developer Atlus has confirmed on X that Shin Megami Tensei 5 will have all digital editions delisted from stores on June 13 as the company prepares to launch Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance.
Announcing the decision, Atlus revealed that although the “Digital Standard, Digital Deluxe, and all associated DLC will be delisted from the Nintendo eShop on June 13,” anyone who has purchased the game will be able to continue to play and re-download it after its removed from the store.

Previously purchased physical and digital versions will remain playable and re-downloadable after this date.
The delisting of Shin Megami Tensei 5 is to push the sales of Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance, the upcoming definitive edition of the game, with an all-new storyline, new locations, demons, and moral choices.
Available in Standard and Deluxe Editions, the Deluxe Edition includes two subquests and three additional pieces of DLC content.

Hmm, seems like Nintendo want to avoid people getting the original release, mistaking it for Vengeance. Especially considering you cannot "upgrade" to the new edition either. As far as price goes, Vengeance is definitely the go to version, but on Switch limited hardware it may also affect performance. Much like Persona 5 Royal also added a few visual improvements that wouldn't be able to run smoothly on PS3, and on PC as well (extra "shadows" in city exploration still tank performance)
