Sony Pictures Core is offering a massive 30% discount on 100 titles from today until December 9. Here’s all you need to know about the offer.

Sony Pictures Core is Sony’s proprietary high-quality movie streaming service, previously known as Bravia Core. Initially exclusive to Sony TVs and Xperia smartphones, it expanded to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles in October 2023.

As part of Playstation 30th Anniversary, Sony is offering a storewide discount on Sony Pictures Core for all Playstation Plus members. A massive 30% discount is offered on the top 100 movies on the platform.

In order to avail of this discount, you will need either PS5 or PS4 console and a Sony Pictures Core account. This offer is valid until December 9, giving subscribers a full week to save on movies like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Uncharted, Gran Turismo: Based on a True Story, and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire.

What is Sony Pictures Core?

Sony Pictures Core boasts a library of up to 2,000 titles from Sony Pictures, ranging from recent releases like Anyone But You and Tarot to classics such as Mr. Smith Goes to Washington from 1930s. Many films come with bonus content including director’s commentaries and exclusive offers.

While that number isn’t much compared to other movie streaming services, SPC emphasizes high-quality streaming, with claims of bitratK Blu-ray standards. The service offers a feature known as ‘Pure Stream,’ which streams at speeds up to 80 Mbps, aiming to deliver superior picture quality. It also provides a substantial collection of IMAX Enhanced movies, offering an immersive viewing experience for compatible content.

 

 

Initially available on select Sony Bravia XR TVs, the service has expanded to include Sony Xperia smartphones and, more recently, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles. This expansion allows a broader audience within the Sony ecosystem to access the service, though it remains exclusive to Sony devices.
