Remedy’s Thomas Puha Issues A Statement On Control 2 After Annapurna Incident

Control 2 Development With Annapurna

Control 2 has found itself in the middle of 2 big news related to Annapurna recently. First was the confirmation that Remedy Entertainment teamed up with Annapurna for the expansion of the Control franchise. It includes possible TV and film adaptation, plus funding 50% of Control 2’s development. The partnership extends to Alan Wake’s expansion.

While some people were concerned about this 50%, both companies assured that it is only funding and expansion in other entertainment mediums which Annapurna is concerned with. The development will fully be with Remedy (co-develop and co-publish with 505 Games) and that Remedy retained full IP rights to both Control and Alan Wake.

And now we’re onto the next big news which made waves in the entire gaming industry, the Annapurna Interactive exodus. This mass resignation which included top executives and over 20 staff members worried many gamers waiting for Control 2.

Because Annapurna Interactive is part of Annapura, and the one involved with video games, gamers reached out to Remedy concerning Control 2 development. And to this, Remedy Entertainment Thomas Puha posted on his official X account that their deal is with Annapurna Pictures and not with Annapurna Interactive.

This clarification not only eased gamers but probably other stakeholders for what could have been a stock crash.
