PUBG is about to celebrate its 7th anniversary, and Krafton has revealed the game’s 2024 roadmap. Keep reading to find out what’s coming this year.

PUBG Destructible Environments Announced

The 2024 roadmap for PUBG had dropped, and it’s massive. This year the battle royale will move to a new engine, improve gunplay, and add a whole bunch of other things to the online shooter.

This year’s roadmap for PUBG will see the devs try and enhance the game to enrich the player experience rather than change its core gameplay loop. And once such new system coming is the new destructible environments feature.

By altering the environment, players will be able to destroy certain sections of buildings and create new offensive and defensive positions from the environment itself. The first of these updates is set to arrive in April.

World and Gunplay Changes in PUBG

The ongoing changes through the year will be set around creating new experiences within the existing maps. On March 13, players can jump into the 7th Anniversary Erangel, and other maps will also receive various changes that reflect the season or mode.

Now, of course, any changes to the maps and massive updates like destructible environments require tweaks in gunplay. While ARs and DMRs will remain as weapons of choice for most, there will be a rollout every two months with any tweaks or balances to reflect player feedback and meta changes.

These updates won’t be heading straight into Normal or Ranked matches, but instead will be tested in the Arcade first, giving everyone the chance to test them out and give feedback.

New Items, Actions, Modes, and Team vs Team System

Things are about to get much more interesting for those who prefer to play in a team. A new team-vs-team system is soon coming to the game, where players can follow their rivalry and scores in real-time and earn rewards by completing objectives. The new system will keep things fresh and players on their toes throughout the season.

In-game cosmetics

To help players gain an edge over their rivals, new items will be introduced that focus on transportation and looting, and new player actions like vehicle vaulting will switch things up and offer new strategies in intense situations.

PvE is also being addressed, with Survivors Left Behind receiving continuous updates. Fantasy Battle Royale is also set to return after popular demand.

These are just some of the updates coming this year in PUBG, but there is so much more, including the transition it Unreal Engine 5, a progressive skin system, enhanced live service, changes in map rotation, bot refinement, improved rank rewards, and clan enhancement.
