What Exactly Is the PlayStation 5 Slim?

The PlayStation 5 Slim is, as the name suggests, a more compact version of the PlayStation 5. There will be two different models: one with a Blu-ray capable CD drive and one without a CD drive.

How Much Will the PlayStation 5 Slim Cost?

The recommended prices for Europe are:

PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray Drive: 549.99€

PS5 Digital Edition: 449.99€

What Is the Difference from the “Normal” PS5?

The main feature is the change in size. The PlayStation 5 Slim is smaller, to be more precise, the volume has been reduced by 30%. This has also made it lighter, weighing between 18% and 24% less compared to the previous model.

The design has also been revised, and the new PlayStation 5 Slim now has four separate cover panels, with the upper ones glossy and the lower ones matte.

The performance of the PlayStation 5 Slim is identical to the old PlayStation 5, but the storage capacity is slightly larger. The PlayStation 5 Slim has at least one terabyte of storage.

You can expand the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition with a separate Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc drive that you can purchase separately.

When Can You Buy the New PlayStation?

The new PlayStation 5 will be available from November in the US market and will subsequently be available worldwide in the following months. Older PlayStation models will no longer be produced, but existing stock will be sold. Afterward, only the PlayStation 5 Slim models will be available on the market.
