Brotato is a top-down arena shooter roguelite video game where you play as a gun-toting potato named Brotato. After your spaceship crashes, you are stranded on an alien planet where you must survive waves of increasingly difficult alien enemies until your rescue arrives.
The game is fun and quirky with different characters and builds you can choose from. You may want to play as a one-handed potato, a berserker, a lucky charmer, or even a mage potato depending on your mood. But in any way, you can wield up to 6 weapons at a time.
You can collect these weapons and other items from flamethrowers and SMGs to sticks and stones to customize your runs and find the perfect setup.
Each playthrough is different with randomized waves (some lasting up to 90 seconds!), items, and maps, keeping the gameplay fresh and exciting.
Brotato was initially released on Early Access in Steam on September 27, 2022. It then went on to a full release on June 23, 2023 for PC, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
