You can start to play Persona 3 Reload for free with an active Game Pass subscription upon the game’s release date. With the current “deal” between Persona and Microsoft, game pass subscribers are in for a treat as new Persona releases enter the service on day one.

This was seen with the fairly recent release of Persona 5 Tactica which launched on Game Pass as day-one too. Speculation is, new Persona titles have a one-year deal with Microsoft. This was evident after the one-year in service of Persona 5 Royal.

Persona 5 Royal left the service as part of the games leaving Xbox Game Pass for October 2023.

Persona 3 Reload will join Persona 5 Tactica, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 3 Portable on Game Pass next year.

While the preloading of Persona 3 Reload is still not available until January 31, 2023, you can pre-install now. Note that pre-installing only means that the game will automatically install once it’s out.

As of now, it’s still just a small file and not installing the game’s entirety. Chances are though, that Microsoft will let you do that but as to when, that we still have to wait and see.
