Adjusting Aspect Ratio in Palworld: A Step-by-Step Guide

Palworld, the open-world creature collector adventure is out now and has immediately shot to the top of the Steam best-sellers chart.
But those with ultrawide monitors have been left frustrated with a common issue that causes games developed on Unreal Engine to not scale properly with vertical FOV, causing the game to be cropped rather than expanded on the monitor. Fortunately, there’s a fix!
Ultrawide FOV Fix For Palworld
To fix the aspect ration when using an ultrawide monitor when playing Palworld, follow these simple steps.
- Press WIN + R
- Enter %LocalAppData%\Pal\Saved\Config\Windows\Engine.ini
Then, add at the bottom:
- [/script/engine.localplayer]
- AspectRatioAxisConstraint=AspectRatio_MaintainYFOV
Finally, save and set it to Read-only in the properties so it doesn’t try to revert back when you next play boot up Palworld.
Play Palworld With Fixed Aspect Ratio
Making those changes to the engine.ini file will prevent the in-game FOV slider from cropping the top and bottom of Palworld – ensuring the aspect ratio properly scales across your ultrawide monitor.
Palworld is out now on Steam and Xbox, and its even available on the Xbox Game Pass. The game is a 32-player Pokémon-like RPG and its proviing to be a smash-hit amongst those who have tried it with a peak of 350,000 concurrent players day one of release.
