Overwatch 2 Xbox Game Pass Rewards Now Live, Is it On Xbox Cloud Gaming?

Overwatch 2 Rewards on Xbox Game Pass are now live. Redeem these plus more perks for continuous subscription. Is the game on Xbox Cloud too?

Since Overwatch 2’s news on Xbox Game Pass integration was published, there has been some confusion regarding the rewards and reward eligibility, and even the integration itself specifically Xbox Cloud gaming.

And now that the game is live on GP, Activision clarified all concerns and even extended the rewards duration.

Overwatch 2 Xbox Game Pass Rewards

As previously published, Overwatch 2 integration to Xbox Game Pass is on September 17 and will unlock exclusive rewards to GP members. In order to redeem these, your Battle.net account must be linked to an active Xbox Game Pass subscription. But unlike the first statement, you may link until November 11, instead of the October 21 initial date.

Upon linking, you will immediately unlock these six hero skins:

  • Cardboard Reinhardt hero skin
  • Turtleship D.Va hero skin
  • Cyberdragon Hanzo hero skin
  • Street Runner Genji hero skin
  • Bee Mercy hero skin
  • Cleric Lifeweaver hero skin

On top of this, you will also receive a one-time bonus of 30 Mythic Prisms to use in the Mythic Shop. Granted that you can’t buy anything there with just the 30, it’s still a top up you don’t have to pay for. This is also valid until November 11.


Overwatch

Now for the subsequent rewards. With a continuously linked account, you will also have access to select Overwatch 2 Shop cosmetics from the past three seasons (excluding Battle Pass, Collab, Mythic, Charity, BlizzCon, and other Promotional content). The applicable cosmetics will be updated with each new season so long as your subscription is valid.

There is also a 10% XP boost which will remain active for the duration of your linked account to an active Game Pass subscription. Eligible tiers are Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Xbox Game Pass for Console, and PC Game Pass.

Will Overwatch 2 Come To Xbox Cloud Gaming?

It may in the future but as of now, no. Overwatch 2’s Game Pass integration does not include Cloud Gaming. In order for it to be, separate negotiations will have to be done as the cloud streaming rights was not part of the signed deal during Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard. These rights were instead handed to Ubisoft.

Overwatch 2 can still be streamed online via other cloud platforms like Nvidia GeForce Now and Boosteroid.
