As tradition goes, Nintendo opted to stream a pre-recorded presentation at E3 2019 instead of a live press conference. The video was only roughly 40 minutes long but showed off so many games that it could have easily trumped other publishers’ presentations if just for sheer numbers. Here’s are the stream’s highlights:
SUPER SMASH BROS. ULTIMATE
Nintendo got the stream going with the reveal of the newest addition to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s roster — Dragon Quest’s Hero. Hero will be able to switch between his Dragon Quest 3, 4, 8 and 11 variants, most likely as alternate costumes. You can check out his pretty epic reveal below:
Just before the stream ended, Nintendo revealed another addition to the roster. The surprise came in the form of Rare’s Banjo-Kazooie duo. These characters were last seen on a Nintendo system during the Gameboy Advance days. Here’s their reveal trailer:
Nintendo did not reveal when these characters are scheduled to come out.
LUIGI’S MANSION 3
Doug Bowser joined Yoshiaki Koizumi on-stream to show off Luigi’s Mansion 3, but not before a comical appearance from Mario’s arch-nemesis, Bowser. After the mix-up was sorted out, the game’s new trailer started, giving players the low-down on how the third instalment will play. You can watch the full trailer below:
Luigi’s Mansion 3 launches this year.
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA LINK’S AWAKENING
We got another peek at the remake for The Legend of Zelda Link’s Awakening. This time we saw a brand new feature where players can create their own dungeons from parts they collect on their adventures. Complete your custom-made dungeons and get great rewards. Check out the new trailer below:
Link’s Awakening launches on September 20th.
THE WITCHER 3 WILD HUNT
Just when you thought it wasn’t possible, Nintendo revealed that CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is coming to the Switch this year. Here’s a peek:
The title says “Complete Edition”, so it appears the Switch port will include all post-launch DLC and updates. Even though a huge graphical downgrade is expected, the thought of playing the massive RPG while on the go is still very exciting.
FIRE EMBLEM THREE HOUSES
Nintendo hyped the release of Fire Emblem Three Houses with a brand new animated trailer that shows a bit more about the game’s story. Here it is:
Fire Emblem Three Houses is set to launch on July 26th.
NO MORE HEROES 3
A new trailer for No More Heroes 3 was shown and it’s oozing with anime flavour, from the over-the-top action to its abundance in personality. Enjoy the trailer below:

DAEMON X MACHINA
Mecha action game Daemon X Machina got a new trailer at E3. The video showed off both cinematic cutscenes and gameplay portions. The game is looking really good and might just be able to fill up that void left by Armored Core. Check out the action-packed trailer below:
Daemon X Machina launches on September 13th.
ASTRAL CHAIN
Nintendo gave another look at the next adventure from PlatinumGames — Astral Chain — and it is looking sharp. This is a highly-anticipated title, so I’m sure you’ll want to see the new trailer below:
Astral Chain will hit the Switch on August 30th.
MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE 3 THE BLACK ORDER

It’s definitely a very promising lineup and another great reason to be a proud Switch owner.
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA BREATH OF THE WILD SEQUEL
To formally end this year’s E3 Nintendo Direct, Nintendo teased that a sequel for their smash-hit launch title, The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, is already in development. Have your minds blown by watching the teaser below:
With how Nintendo named the video, it seems they’re considering not naming the sequel as Breath of the Wild 2. The game does appear to be it its early stages so we might have to wait a while to find out more.
Aside from the games above, here are some others that Nintendo showcased during their E3 stream. You can click on a game to view its trailer.
