NieR: Automata: Success Beyond Gaming
If NieR: Automata’s success exceeded Square Enix’s initial expectations, over the years the series has grown beyond video games, thanks to the already established Drakengard roots. With manga, novels, and even a 2023 anime series, NieR: Automata Ver1.1a.

NieR: Automata and PlatinumGames: The Future of the Series
Seven years after Automata, many fans are eager for a new chapter. Certainly, with such success, PlatinumGames and Square Enix wouldn’t want to waste the opportunity. However, the future of the series remains uncertain, given the team’s silence and the eccentric Yoko Taro.
Another issue is that a good portion of the team has left PlatinumGames for other projects over the years. Particularly with the return of Studio Clover as Clovers, led by Hideki Kamiya. Shinji Mikami with his new KAMUY team. Along with, of course, various team members. The future remains uncertain not only for NieR but also for PlatinumGames future, which is currently working on the mysterious Project G.G.
