NieR is an action RPG series that originally began as a spin-off of the Drakengard (Drag-On Dragoon) series. Created by Yoko Taro, it debuted in 2010 with two versions, Replicant and Gestalt. It received mixed feedback but over the years became a true cult classic.
With the sequel NieR: Automata released in 2017 after its reveal at E3 2015, it became a global hit. Receiving multiple nominations throughout 2017 and 2018, and even winning some awards. This success reignited interest in the series, leading to the release of Replicant ver 1.22474487139, a remaster of the original game in 2021.
NieR: 15th Anniversary Celebration
2025 is certainly a very important year for the NieR series. With Automata celebrating its 8th anniversary on February 17. Meanwhile, the entire series will turn 15 years old in April, and to celebrate this milestone, Square Enix will hold a dedicated live stream.
The live stream will include announcements about events currently active in the series, discussions, and new information from the development team. Among them are the creative director Yoko Taro, producer Yosuke Saito, and musical artists, who will conclude the stream with a mini concert.

NieR: Anniversary Live Stream Date and Time
Square Enix has scheduled the live stream for April 19th at 18:00 JST / 01:00 am PST / 10:00 am CET. The event will be available on Square Enix’s official channels.

The event will last around 2 and a half hours and will likely be in Japanese for now. But it remains very exciting for fans, with hopes for a new game announcement. Remember the 10th Anniversary event, which led to the announcement of NieR Replicant’s Remaster.
