New World Aeternum: Post-Launch Roadmap Update with Key Comparison

New World: Aeternum is the revamped version of New World, an MMORPG developed and published by Amazon Games on 28 September 2021. The new Aeternum launched on 15 October 2024, making its debut on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S for the first time.

Players are taken to a fantasy version of the 17th century on the island of Aeternum, during the Age of Exploration. This comprehensive revamp introduces a 10-player PvP area and Raid, alongside the option to still play on Legacy servers.

New World Aeternum: The Dev Update Unveiling Season 7

In an official announcement on 25 November 2024, the Amazon Games team invites fans to discover what’s in store for New World: Aeternum. With a Dev Update just weeks after Aeternum’s official launch, now available on consoles too.

The upcoming content is divided into three phases:

  • New Season: The content arriving with the new Season 7.
  • In Development: Content currently under development, set to arrive in upcoming seasons.
  • In Exploration: Ideas that the team is still discussing and exploring. Organized based on internal and community feedback, and not yet finalized for potential release.

New World Aeternum: The Roadmap for Upcoming Game Content

With Season 7 of New World: Aeternum arriving in January 2025, we already have confirmation of what’s coming to Aeternum. The update promises new PvP content, Outpost Rush, Solo Trials, and much more.

Seasonal World 1: PvP Focus

Limited-time seasonal servers dedicated to pure PvP. Players are rewarded with better loot at higher risk, with drops upon death. Progress and rewards will carry over at the end of the season, acknowledging players’ efforts. The team will soon reveal more details about what’s in store.

New Outpost Rush, Mutated Expeditions, and Daily Solo Trials

A new Outpost Rush map is on the way, offering a team PvP map where players must gather resources, capture objectives, and defeat opponents. Unified Mutations will remove the need for multiple gear sets, with M3 matchmaking and better rewards. Solo Trials will challenge players with three new daily challenges.

Combat Balancing, New Artifacts and Perks, and Seasonal Events

Season 7 will feature weapon balance updates, with details coming soon from the team. On top of that we have eight new Artifacts, including seven Weapons and one Unique Accessory. Many seasonal events, like the Legacy of Crassus and Rabbit’s Revenge, will return, some offering improved rewards for players who’ve reached certain levels.

During the recent Dev Update, the AGS team also briefly mentioned some ideas already in development. These include the arrival of a Barber and Global Storage, along with new additions to balance the game and expand certain features.
