Xbox Rewards gets a major overhaul! Earn more points through Game Pass Quests and new ways to redeem points!
The new year brings big changes in the world of Xbox as the Microsoft Rewards program gets an overhaul. Don’t worry, it’s for the better with more rewards and more ways of earning it.
But before we get to the details, it is important to note that due to Microsoft’s commitment to healthy age-appropriate gaming, points earned via gameplay will only be available for gamers 18 years old and above. And so, if you do not fit in this age bracket, the Rewards Hub on your console, and the Xbox App on PC and mobile will no longer be available to you.
This however does not affect any previously earned points if you are under 18. You’ll be able to claim them on the Microsoft Rewards site and still be able to earn points through parentally approved purchases, eligible searches on Bing, and completing Microsoft Rewards Daily Set. In other words, non-gaming activities.
Now that we got that out of the way, let’s move on to the rewards for 18 years and above.
New Game Pass Quests
As of January 7, Game Pass Quest which was previously exclusive to Ultimate members is also now available to PC Game Pass subscribers. Earning points is the same: complete quests through the Rewards Hub on your profile and play games in the GP catalog.
The rewards system is broken down into 4:
- Daily Play – Play any game from the Game Pass catalog for at least 15 minutes to ear 10 points a day.
- Weekly Streaks – Play for at least five days a week to complete astreak. The more days you play, the more points you earn. A 2-week streak will earn 2x the base streak points, a 3-week streak will earn 3x the base streak points, and anything beyond a 4-week streak will earn 4x the base streak points.
- Monthly 4-Pack – Playing four different games (for at least 15 minutes each) every month.
- Monthly 8-Pack – Play eight different games (for at least 15 minutes each) every month. The Monthly 4-pack counts too.
Games eligible within the Game Pass catalog are all the ones not needing a third-party launcher like Battle.net
Xbox Rewards Program Update
The update on the Rewards program of course isn’t exclusive to Game Pass Quests. All Rewards members can get 150 points with the new PC Weekly Bonus. To earn this, you must play 5 days or more within the week for at least 15 minutes. Note that this is also only available to gamers 18 years old and above.
Points earned through the Rewards program can be used to buy Xbox gift cards, new games, in-game content, and even donations to charities.
