What is Metroid Prime 4: Beyond?

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is the latest installment in the Metroid series and is set to release for the Nintendo Switch in 2025. The Metroid games are first-person alien shooters. You play as the well-known bounty hunter Samus Aran, who is also popular from the earlier parts of the series. Unfortunately, not much is known about the game’s story yet. Metroid Prime 4 was supposed to be released much earlier

Metroid Prime 4 was announced at E3 in 2017. At that time, only a logo of the game was shown and nothing more. To great surprise, this game was developed by Bandai Namco Singapore and not by Retro Studios, who developed the other Metroid games. On January 15, 2019, Nintendo announced that the development of the game had been halted because they were not satisfied with the then-current version of Metroid 4.

After that, Retro Studios restarted the work for the game and developed it from scratch. Now it is finally set to be released in 2025 under the name Metroid Prime 4: Beyond for the Nintendo Switch.
