Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut Delisted

Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut PC release is just around the corner but the headlines are not of the release. Come to think of it, it’s the opposite for a lot of gamers.

After the Helldivers 2 PC launch fiasco, Sony is getting ahead of another possible disaster and letting the gaming community know earlier about the “restrictions” for their PC releases.

To play the game’s online multiplayer mode and use the Playstation overlay, a PSN account is required. Fortunately for those who are just after the single-player mode, that will not be affected so you can access it without a PSN account. This is confirmed by the devs.

However, a decision was made to delist the game on PC and refund pre orders in “purchase restricted countries”, basically where PSN accounts are not available. There are over 180 countries now where the Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut has been taken out. Although the single-player mode is still accessible, the sale of the product is the game in its entirety so it does make sense to do this move.

And then in a more recent development, the PC multiplayer crossplay will have a beta label to it. It was stated that it will be “functional” on PC at launch but will not be automatic. According to their official press release, “Cross-play between PS4 consoles, PS5 consoles, and PC is supported when starting a game session by inviting friends on PlayStation Network.”
