Frostpunk 2: Over 350,000 Copies Sold in Less Than a Week

Frostpunk 2 was released on September 20 and has already sold more than 350,000 copies. Developer 11 bit studios has already revealed the company has broken even on the game. The post-apocalyptic city-builder is available now on PC. It will launch in 2025 on PlayStation and Xbox.

Frostpunk 2 is the new highly-anticipated game in 11 bit studios’ post-apocalyptic city-builder and survival strategy series. The developer has revealed the game has sold over 350,000 copies since its release on September 24. The total estimated sales revenue has “already covered the costs” 11 bit studios spent on producing and marketing the game.

Frostpunk 2’s success: New Features Detailed

Frostpunk 2’s success has helped the game reach a Metacritic score of 86 and a concurrent player count of 35,533 on Steam. In comparison, the first Frostpunk reached an all-time peak of 29,361 players on Steam and has a Metacritic score of 84. Players and critics love the sequel, which has helped sales since its release on September 20.

Set 30 years after a blizzard covers Earth in an ever-present winter, Frostpunk 2 explores the perils of human nature. As the Steward of a city, players must supply their citizens with food, warmth, and resources in a never-ending cycle of struggle. Cities are divided into role-specific districts such as housing, and colonies can help with supply and demand in the city. New special buildings like the Council Hall will help players set goals and navigate a tense political landscape.

The two main modes in Frostpunk 2 offer significantly different experiences. Frostpunk 2 Mod Support: A New Way to Play

Introduced for Frostpunk 2 is the new Frostkit, an official modding tool for creating maps and scenarios and modifying other aspects of the game, including cities and models. The Frostkit comes after players demanded official modding support for the first game. It is only now possible due to the switch to the Unreal Engine for Frostpunk 2.

The Frostkit will release at a later day after a closed beta test.
