Two weeks before the launch of FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH on PC, the Square Enix team reveals the new features and functionalities of the PC version.

FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH (FF7) is the second chapter of the Remake of the 7th chapter of Square Enix’s famous Final Fantasy series. This particular chapter, released on February 29, 2024, for PS5, achieved huge success and even won the Best Score & Music award during The Game Awards 2024.

Finally, nearly a year after its release, the Square Enix team is ready to bring REBIRTH to PC. It will be available on January 23, 2025, on Steam and Epic Games Store, offering not just additional features but also enhanced visual details.

On January 9, 2025, two weeks before launch, the Square Enix team released a new trailer showcasing the new features in the PC version of FF7 Rebirth. These include:

• Improved Graphics: Enhanced Lighting and Visual Details
• Resolution and Frame Rate: Supports up to 4K resolution and 120 FPS
• Nvidia DLSS: Upscaling and Improved Performance
• 3 Graphic Presets: Low, Medium, and High with Various Customizable Options
• Number of NPCs on Screen: As a Performance Option
• Mouse and Keyboard Support
• Dualsense Wireless Controller Support

FF7 REBIRTH: About PC Features

A standard set of features for the much-anticipated Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. It includes native support for the PS5 Dualsense Controller with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. Additionally, enhanced lighting should provide a more consistent presentation compared to the base PS5 version.

It also features Nvidia’s DLSS with upscaling options, though there’s no confirmation about the version or whether Frame Generation is included. However, with Unreal Engine 4 still powering Rebirth, performance issues should be minimal, thanks to the relatively modest system requirements.
