Far Cry 6 is available as part of Ubisoft’s Summer Sale on Ubisoft Connect. With a massive 90% discount (precisely 89.99%), the list price of the base version drops from 59.99€ to just 6€, with the discount available only until 25th July 2024. A great saving for the standard edition of this sixth chapter in the series that returns to a tropical island location after a fifth chapter set in Montana County, USA. The sixth chapter in the Far Cry series, released in 2021, is heavily inspired by the Cuban Revolution of the 1950s. This chapter takes place on the Caribbean island of Yara, inspired by Cuba, during the dictatorial period of “El Presidente” Antón Castillo in 2021, accompanied by his young son Diego, the next leader of Yara. During this, Dani Rojas prepares to escape the island with friends Lita Torres and Alejo Ruiz on a fishing boat, but Alejo is mortally wounded during a skirmish with local forces. Forced to turn to the last hope of a ship full of other escapees. But soon the plan fails, leading to a bitter surprise for the two youngsters.
Diego will have to contact Clara Garcia, the leader of the local rebellion, and try to free the escape routes blocked by Castillo’s forces. In a first-person adventure that offers a modern take on the Cuban Revolution with a good antagonist in Antón Castillo, thanks to actor Giancarlo Esposito’s skills, and solid gameplay that slightly fixes some issues, though it lacks real innovations. Overall, a solid experience, ideal for fans of the series but also enjoyable for those looking for a good modern Far Cry at a great price.
