Fantasian is a turn-based RPG by Square Enix that debuted exclusively on Apple Arcade in 2021. Split into two parts, the game follows young Leo, who wakes up with only one memory in a strange world filled with machines. Created in collaboration with Hironobu Sakaguchi, the mind behind the Final Fantasy series.
Bringing an engaging JRPG experience with a game world crafted using real dioramas built by the development team and rendering in computer graphics. The result is a visually stunning style, complemented by a soundtrack from Nobuo Uematsu and designs by Manabu Kusunoki. Neo Dimension remasters all of this into one full package.
Fantasian Neo Dimension Release Date
The release date for FANTASIAN Neo Dimension is scheduled for 5 December 2024, bringing the remastered version to PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Officially announced in June 2024 during the Nintendo Direct. In September, the physical editions for PS5 and Nintendo Switch were confirmed. Players who pre-order will receive the Vibran Secret Stone Jewel, which boosts EXP for the equipped character.
Fantasian Neo Dimension Trailers
With the release date fast approaching, Square Enix recently dropped a brand-new trailer for Fantasian Neo Dimension. The launch trailer showcases the world of Fantasian and gives us a glimpse into the adventure Leo and his friends will undertake to save the world.
This JRPG features Square Enix’s signature style with new elements like the Warp Device. It adds a layer of strategy to the RPG formula, now enhanced with 4K remastering and a new gameplay difficulty!
Fantasian Neo Dimension Gameplay
Neo Dimension retains the original formula of Fantasian, built around the Dimengeon system. This system allows players to gather enemies, choosing whether to face them one by one or wait for the Dimengeon Machine to fill up and fight them all at once.
Fantasian also features 200 locations to explore, carefully created with a mix of handcrafted dioramas and CG designs, giving the game a unique presentation. Players can use the Warp Device to rediscover Leo’s lost memories, essential to saving the world from the Mechteria threat.

Fantasian Neo Dimension features the renowned composer Nobuo Uematsu, who worked on multiple Final Fantasy titles and other Mistwalker games. A standout addition is the inclusion of some tracks from Final Fantasy, which players can switch between on the fly. Options include tracks from Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster, XIV, XVI, and VII Remake.
Another exciting update is the trademarking of Fantasian Dark Edge by Mistwalker in June 2024. It’s unclear if this is a new chapter in the series or a DLC for Neo Dimension. Either way, it hints at more content for the Fantasian franchise in the works.
