New PS5 Update: Audio Focus and Classic UI
On April 23, 2025, the Playstation team introduced the upcoming changes for PS5. The update, available from April 24, 2025, brings two new features to Sony’s console.
It introduces Audio Focus and Classic Console UI. The first option offers a range of audio settings to improve your visual experience based on your setup. The latter adds a retro touch to the PS5 UI, with options inspired by the previous 4 generations.

PS5 What Audio Focus and Classic UI Offer
An update that the team explained further on the official blog. With Audio Focus, we will get new audio options available in the section: [Settings] > [Sound] > [Volume] > [Audio Focus]. Also available from the Control Center, a feature that works with audio output via USB or Audio Jack, offering:
- 4 Preset Boost Audio: Low Pitch, Voices, High Pitch, Quiet Sounds
- 3 levels for each Preset: Weak, Medium, Strong
- Right / Left Channel Adjustment
With Classic UI, the team brings back the UI customization introduced with the 30th Anniversary. Now, players can access the new Appearance setting, available from [System] > [Appearance] > [Appearance and Sound]. Offering 4 UIs inspired by PS1, PS2, PS3 and PS4.
