What is Exodus?

Exodus is the first game from the new studio Archetype Entertainment, founded in 2019. The game is about Earth dying and humans needing to find a new home in a hostile galaxy where they can live in peace. You are a Traveler and thus humanity’s last hope.

As a Traveler, you are at the forefront of humanity’s survival struggle, and one of your most important tasks is to steal weapons and technologies from the universe’s most powerful enemy, the Celestials. They are far more advanced than humans. Only through their technologies do you stand a chance in this hopeless fight.

In this fight against the Celestials, you will constantly have to make decisions and sacrifices. As one of the most important leaders of the human race, you will make fatal decisions that could end the lives of many people or your direct comrades.

Your decisions affect the entire world, but one thing will never change: the threat from the enemy. In the fight against these aliens, you give everything to protect humanity from extinction. You can expect intense action fights against a variety of enemies, each uniquely designed.

To save Earth, you must first leave it. On this journey, you will visit many often unexplored planets, where many enemies lurk. You will find relics of ancient times and other civilizations to explore, trade, or fight. This makes the world of Exodus very full and lively, and rarely boring.

You will face battles against rival humans who have the same goal as you. Monstrous creatures that want to protect themselves on their planets from you and, of course, alien civilizations that do not welcome you. But your greatest danger is, of course, the Celestials themselves.

Who do you play in Exodus?

As mentioned, in Exodus you play a Traveler, but you were not born as one. You actually start as a simple scrap collector. After collecting scrap, you evolve into a legendary explorer, now searching for weapons and technologies of the Celestials.

You qualified for the job because you have a special genetic ability. With this ability, you are one of the few humans who can control and use the Celestials’ weapons. You must learn to control your powers and use them against your enemies.

The Sacrifice of the Travelers

The game tries to strictly adhere to the laws of physics, so it includes time dilation. Since time is relative to the speed of the object, time passes much faster for people on Earth while you travel to other planets at nearly the speed of light. So a few days for you can already be decades in your homeland. Therefore, with every flight, you sacrifice your old life, as everyone you know ages faster than you.

Fortunately, in Exodus, you do not travel as a Traveler alone. On your journey, you must look out for companions, who do not have to be human but can belong to another species. Get the best fighters on your side to safely survive this journey. Each companion brings unique abilities that support you in battle.

Why is Exodus similar to Starfield and Baldur’s Gate?

Exodus, like Starfield, is set in space and offers exciting battles against monsters, aliens, or human opponents on many different planets. Just like in Starfield, there will be heaps to explore.

Even though Baldur’s Gate is a turn-based game and Exodus is not, there are still some similarities. The companion system is quite similar in Baldur’s Gate, as you also find companions there who accompany you on your journey. But that’s not all. Every decision in Baldur’s Gate affects the entire game and story, which is the same in Exodus. Even though the story aspect is naturally a bit less and the combat more present, Exodus offers a gripping story that concerns all of humanity.

When Will Exodus Be Released?

Of course, what most people are interested in is when this game will finally be released. Archetype Entertainment has been working on this game since 2019. There is no exact release date yet, but Exodus is expected to be released in 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X S, and PC. We don’t have a specific release date yet, but as soon as it is available, we will inform you at AllKeyShop.
