EVE Online developer CCP Games has revealed an ambitious 2025 roadmap that includes two massive expansions and in-game events. The community-driven space MMO is now 22 years old and is not showing signs of slowing down.

EVE Online, the long-running sci-fi MMO, continues to evolve after two decades, with a 2025 roadmap outlining a massive year featuring major expansions, in-game events, and new features.

CCP Games is putting “even more power in the hands of capsuleers” in 2025 with the new Freelance Projects feature, fan-favorite events, and the Alliance Tournament, all of which come alongside two expansions in the summer and winter.

Major Expansions Coming in 2025

CCP Games plans to release two major expansions in 2025, with the developer focusing on building on top of the player feedback received from the Equinox expansion released in June 2024.

While we don’t know what’s coming in the winter 2025 expansion, the summer expansion will look at Sovereignty rules, engagement, and dynamic security, while the new Freelance Projects system will allow pilots to craft and complete player-created missions.

Community-Driven Events

The EVE Online 2025 roadmap focuses on community-driven events, including Capsuleer Day, EVE Fanfest 2025, and the Alliance Tournament.

This year, EVE turns 22 years old, and Capsuleer Day will offer exclusive in-game items and events this May, with EVE Fanfest taking place from May 1 to May 3 in Reykjavik. The Alliance Tournament returns in Q4 2025, with the Blood Raiders Crimson Harvest and Winter Nexus events also scheduled for the end of the year.
