Control 2 has a new exciting update, as Remedy Entertainment teases what’s next for the mysterious Bureau of Control. The Alan Wake 2 developer has revealed Control 2 will be an action-RPG with a new update coming to the first game in 2025.

Remedy Entertainment has confirmed that Control 2 is in full production, with the developer eager to expand on the success of the first Control game and the recent Alan Wake 2, which shares its universe. Remedy has revealed during its Capital Markets Day 2024 presentation that Control 2 will be an action-RPG, a significant change from the Control Ultimate Edition, which is a shooter.

Control 2 is not the only game in development at Remedy, with the company working on Control spin-off FBC: Firebreak and the Max Payne 1 & 2 Remakes. The company has also partnered with Annapurna to produce TV and film adaptations of Alan Wake and Control. Control Ultimate Edition is coming to Mac in February 2025, including the season pass and post-launch patches.

When to Expect Control 2

Remedy is keeping Control 2 details close with no release date in sight. The change from shooter to action-RPG suggests the developer wants to expand on its high-quality storytelling and genre-defining gameplay.
