In a surprising turn of events, Capcom dropped the news that the next Resident Evil game is already in development. The reveal came from Resident Evil 7 director Koshi Nakanishi during The recent Capcom NEXT Summer 2024 livestream.
Speaking about RE7, Nakanishi confirmed the next title in the series is coming by saying, “It was really difficult to figure out what to do after [Resident Evil] 7. But I found it, and to be honest, it feels substantial.”
Unfortunately, Nakanishi didn’t divulge any more details and instead said he hopes everyone is “excited for the day” when he can share more information. I think I speak for all of us Resident Evil and survival horror fans when I say, “Yes, yes, we’re excited.”
