Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is an action RPG with non-stop real-time combat. In a world where two nations are at war, you embark on an epic journey through fantastic landscapes with members of the opposing force to uncover a dark secret and the true enemy.
In terms of art direction, soundtrack, charadesign and environments, it's still very good, but a step down from the exceptional 2. The story is too simplistic and lacking in surprises, which unfortunately can be read from the start. Combat is very good, without being unforgettable, if you're hooked on the combo system, which you don't have to exploit to the full. I would add, however, that it's a real pleasure to perform complex combos with a damage boost that's sometimes... too high? In hard mode, even without experience boost sessions, the game is easy to get through. This is a disappointment, even if the game is, in fact, accessible to all. Exploration allows you to discover an interesting lore, which is sometimes well rewarded, sometimes a little less so; you have to love walking and discovering for the pleasure of it. In my opinion, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 needs 6 months or even 1 year of development to become an excellent game.
I still haven't played and Xenoblade games but they seem to be quite enjoyable and story-rich for RPGs.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 has a beautiful world, and while cut scenes can be long and tedious, the game offers a lot of content. The gameplay is fun and smooth, and you may forget about the time while exploring the surroundings.
The best Xenoblade game so far, it improved in basically every way. I enjoyed the other games a lot but this one feels special
