Explore the alien underwater world. Your ship crashes and all you see around you is water. You must survive! Luckily there are a lot of resources available on the ocean floor. 

• Create an underwater base that you will be able to live in. You will also be able to craft a personal underwater vehicle, lights, diving gear, knives and everything that you might need underwater.
• Explore shallow coral reefs, lava fields, deep sea trenches, underwater rivers that are bioluminescent, cave systems, plateaus, reefs, and forests that are made of kelp.
• Find out what happened to this alien planet. Something’s not right with your surroundings, you just feel it! The sea life also looks infected and there are so many strange structures on the ocean floor. You must find out if you can get out of this strange world alive.

It is such a beautiful world that no matter how terrified I was, I wanted to keep on exploring. I wanted to go deeper and deeper down, into all of these caves, finding all these new creatures. I couldn’t wait to get another message on my radio to advance the story and find out what was happening.

If you couldn’t tell, I was blown away by Subnautica. What initially appeared to be a knee-high kiddie pool worth of depth, suddenly gives way to a literal ocean of gameplay opportunities. And while it has certain technical limitations, these will certainly not discourage the non-critic audience from at least dipping a toe in. It’s easily one of the coolest, most engaging, and most gratifying experiences I’ve had with a game in 2018.
