About this game

Song of Syx is a low fantasy-themed city builder where you start off as a tiny colony and build your way into a metropolis large enough to be an empire. The mechanics are complex and reminiscent of real-life history, where small events can spiral into the collapse of kingdoms or their rise. Most of the game is very intuitive to learn but hard to master. The graphics are mostly aimed at stimulating your imagination rather than realism.

• Experience a world full of different races, cultures, gods, and strange creatures, with a full day and night cycle, climate and weather patterns, pestilence, drought, and bandits, A new discovery will ensure that kingdoms and empires come and go with or without your intervention. This ensures that no run will ever feel the same.
• Win the hearts of your subjects or whip them into submission, and turn your small settlement into a sprawling metropolis, but be careful not to overreach as everything your people build has an upkeep, and a slight disruption could quickly spiral out of control. Your people will not hesitate to depose a useless king.
• Once your kingdom is big enough, other kingdoms and despots will be eager to forge an alliance or expand their borders, so tend to your relations and try not to stand out too much, engage in global trade, where there are no fixed prices, no currencies, but everything is based on supply and demand turning you rich one day or poor on the next if you’re not paying attention.
• Once the war is inevitable you will need to gather your forces from allies, vassals, or conscript your population, traveling mercenaries, and heroes with up to 20k individual units for you to field. Use tactics to encircle your enemies or just let your reputation precede you.
• Appoint nobles, or import them from other kingdoms and have them manage different aspects of your kingdom boosting its production, but be careful of who to trust, and reward them accordingly lest some of them get the idea of usurping you or join your enemies.
