About this game

Praey for the Gods is a boss climbing open world adventure game inspired by the hugely influential shadow of the colossus, step into the shoes of a lone hero sent to the edge of a dying frozen world to discover the mystery behind the never-ending winter. With only the clothes on your back, you must survive the colossal dangers that you might encounter, and restore this world’s balance from the brink, you will be faced with questions that not even gods know the answer to.

• You will be able to climb every possible surface you can get your hands on, from ruins and mountains to the massive beasts that roam these lands. Ascend to the tops of mountains then glide over to previously inaccessible locations. Swim in frigid waters and uncover hidden locations that contain additional secrets and treasures.
• With not that many resources at the start you will have to creatively make fires, hunt for food, and find new equipment it’s your job to prepare for an eternal winter. Nature isn’t the only danger however craft weapons to defeat monsters for better gear, and venture into long-forgotten caves to discover their secrets.
• You can take on bosses in whatever order you want, Praey for the Gods is a non-linear game you choose who you battle and how. Explore the snow-capped peaks and crawling fog. Don’t let awe turn into carelessness because snow storms can crop up at any moment and bury you in a blizzard.

Reviews

Praey for the Gods is a game that is inches away from being a new classic. It does many things very well, and it is an incredibly impressive achievement for a small team. If you have a tolerance for tedium to reach some brief high points, then Praey delivers, but newcomers might be best served by starting off with Shadow of the Colossus.

Worth Playing

The survival mechanics feel remarkably similar to Breath of the Wild, with item management and weapon degradation taking center stage. These are reasonably well implemented but are at odds with the otherwise minimal nature of the game. The devs would have perhaps been wise to focus more on polishing up the boss battles, as these are the true stars of the show.

In Short: An utterly shameless clone of Shadow Of The Colossus that comes nowhere close to mirroring the same level of grandeur and ingenuity as Team Ico’s classic. Praey For The Gods attempts to do far too much with obviously limited resources and the end result is a buggy, frustrating chore that at no point comes too close to doing anything as well as Shadow Of The Colossus, let alone bettering it. Like a bad pub tribute band, its only real accomplishment is making you appreciate the original even more.
