This game is the updated version of eFootball PES 2020 which was released by Konami in September of 2019. This update was released to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Pro Evolution Soccer series.
Don’t go into eFootball PES 2021 Season Update thinking that it is different game from the previous iteration, it’s not. However, if eFootball PES 2020 is not already in your game library then PES 2021 is a sublime football game that benefits from all of the tailored updates that PES 2020 received. Konami perhaps missed a beat and could have been a tad bit more generous by making this an even more budget-priced game than what it is being sold for to capture any FIFA players who are on the fence, but it is still worth the price of admission. The update is based on PES 2020, but adds a few new features, notably for the career mode, and above all a focus on the 2020 European Cup (held in 2021 due to covid). It’s a great way to give your PES 2020 a facelift if you own it and enjoy the game. Otherwise, there’s little new apart from the national selections and squad updates.
