About this game

Ghost Song is a Metroidvania taking place on the dismal moon of Lorian in which a long-slumbering Deadsuit awakens. Embark on an ethereal 2D adventure of self-determination, cosmic horrors, and long-forgotten mysteries. Traverse the atmospheric environment as you acquire new skills and unearth the secrets of this alien world!

Reviews

Old Moon has crafted a delightfully atmospheric metroidvania, with satisfying gameplay, and endearing characters. Ghost Song boasts an intriguing narrative of self discovery, with a world of mystery that rewards exploration. Despite playing at its best too late in the campaign, Ghost Song is a beautifully somber, sometimes relatable experience, that I wasn’t ready to leave by the time I had finished.

Ghost Song is a decent Metroidvania that avoids feeling derivative thanks to some great world-building and engaging risk Vs reward combat systems. While its Soulslike elements can make the game feel punishing for the sake of it at times, this is somewhat alleviated by the explorer mode that makes it play more like a challenging but traditional Metroidvania.

Ghost Song is one of those games that I played for much longer than I was actually enjoying myself which is always a bummer. There are many contributing factors to this such as the aforementioned tedious exploration and another element is the primary goal of the campaign which is to return ship parts to a crashed vessel.
