Forager is a 2D isometric open-world survival crafting game developed by HopFrog, explore the world, find secrets, and build your base out of nothing start small and slowly improve your base, skills, equipment, etc build your future as you see fit, achieve anything you set your mind too you can experience the game in a varied array of playstyles.

• As mentioned, you will be able to look for all sorts of consumables, resources, and materials, explore different biomes for new resources, and showcase your rarest finds at the local museum for big rewards.

• Once you have the basics built you can decorate your home and pave roads to get to places faster. You can either focus on cold hard industrial efficiency or make a cozy little farm, but be careful every once in a while, you will need to defend your home from invading enemies.

When the only real issue holding a game back is the promise of multiplayer implementation (which essentially means the only problem is that we want more of it), you know you’re onto a good thing. An immensely satisfying game, and one that holds so much promise as to its development, Forager is a great buy as it stands, and a worthwhile investment in the long run.

While it isn’t without a few faults, it’s very much an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon or two with, then return to later in the week to see how much more you can take on. I’m all about the grind in my day-to-day life, so seeing something similar in such a fun and rewarding little game was right up my alley. I’ll definitely be picking up a copy when it debuts on Switch.
