Fallout 76 Nuclear Winter is an add on mode for the base game Fallout 76. It is a 52-player battle royale mode.

You will be pitted against other players to be the Overseer of Vault 51. This will be a 52-player fight to the death. There will be teams of up to four that can be formed to reach the 52 players. Each player in your team can choose their spawn point in the map and each location is visible to your teammates only.

As with other battle royales, there will be a circular ring of fire that will close in forcing players to go against each other, finding yourself outside the ring will deal gradual damage to yourself as well as to other creatures, characters, and vehicles.

Overseers won’t have the usual leveling system but their ranks can e used to unlock new content and progress inside Vault 51. This will give access to new rooms, terminals, and holotapes inside the vault.
