The amount of positive reviews speaks for itself. Cuphead is a highly acclaimed platformer with surreal design and challenging gameplay. It looks much like retro cartoons, with hand-drawn graphics, and similar to this period soundtrack. This is a truly unforgettable experience that can be hardly compared to any other title, so if you like difficult platformers, this is a perfect pick for you.
Cuphead boasts a unique artistic style, with an atmosphere reminiscent of 1930s cartoons and creative resources inspired by the period: hand-drawn animations, watercolour backgrounds and period music (especially jazz). But above all, it’s the platforming and epic boss battles that are so challenging! The game is known for its difficulty. It can be played in local co-op, but it’s not always easier, far from it.
This is one of those games that if you’re not in the right mood, your joy-con may find themselves flying across the room. Cuphead is difficult 2D platformer and you will die, a lot, so fine-tune those reflexes and prepare dodge enemies and their projectiles while you shoot back at them across multiple levels. Besides challenging but rewarding gameplay, Cuphead has unique visuals, a fitting soundtrack and a local coop more for 2 players.
