The new DLC for Crusader Kings 3 expands the already vast array of options the base game provides with new possibilities. One of the new additions is the tours on the realm, where players can make a route along their kingdom, see how their vassals live and give gifts or collect taxes from them. Hosting and participating in tournaments is also a thing now with many activities to partake in, including jousting. On top of all, Grand Weddings can be arranged for diplomatic benefits and knights can be honoured allowing them to specialize in politics or war.
Crusader Kings 3 Tours & Tournaments is coming as a major expansion to a base game that has received many (very) positive reviews. Paradox has always had this policy of enriching its games with countless DLC. Not always of equal quality. However, this keeps their games alive for many years, with great replayability, rediscovery, variety, new challenges… the difference between the base game and the game with all its DLC is huge!
Here, we find a chivalrous DLC, which will bring to life the medieval folklore of the time. Indeed, you have the possibility to go through your kingdom, strategically choosing your route, and to organise different types of tournaments, for which you prepare yourself by visiting the blacksmith or by drawing your courage from alcohol. Other types of festivities such as weddings as well. But the flip side is that you can take advantage of this to murder someone without arousing suspicion, win the heart of your sweetheart, force the hand of a vassal with your tutors and collect the taxes owed to you, etc. A chivalrous DLC that really livens up daily life, but which is of course not without danger if you do it clumsily or choose your timing badly!
Quite original, this expansion already appears to be a must-have as it will enhance the base game.
The latest DLC to Paradox Interactive’s 4X Strategy game Crusader Kings III, a series qutie appreciated for the unique take of the Dynasty system, where we’ll take command of a whole dynasty and expand it during the Middle Ages, with tons of options, through wars, marriages, war successions and more.
This latest addition named Tours & Tournaments, focus on additional content for the more peaceful time periods with lots of various activities which can be taken more casually, but also more seriously with further depth to roleplay and enhancing the experience.
With a new touring and traveling system, we’ll be able to take our current sovereign on a travel to visit your subjects to gain popularity, tax them more, or intimidate them. Not only that but you’ll be able to go on a longer journeys, like on a pilgrimage either for curiosity or for religious motives. You’ll be able to set your route, but in case you exit the boundaries of your reign, you’ll have to elect a temporary sovereign. This is an important aspect, as you may want to rest your reign on the shoulder of someone you can trust, to avoid any unwanted results at your return, like a possible coup d’etat, a worse condition on your reign, major displeasure on your person etc due to wrongdoing done in your name etc.
On top of that a whole new addition of Grand Activity is the Grand Tournament, where you’ll be able to visit during your travel to a Tournament Screen, where you’ll be able to visit the Tournament Grounds, with the possibility not only to partecipate yourself but also your most valuable and strongest subjects, giving you more prestige each time they win in a competition. Another Grand Activity is the Grand Wedding, a great instrument to exercise your power through a wealthy and majestic wedding, either yours or for one your subjects. On top of that this new DLC brings a pletora of rework for the activities, with also a focus on the visual of your army, subjects and royal family with the showcase in the weddings and tournaments.
A rather interesting DLC that add some fun content, especially for roleplayers, but one that is quite pricey at that especially as a standalone one. Might want to wait a bit for it to come down in price.
Crusader Kings 3 Tours & Tournaments is a new DLC for the popular historical strategy game, Crusader Kings 3. DLC focuses on expanding the gameplay options related to tournaments, jousts, and other knightly activities.
One of the standout features of the DLC is the addition of a new tournament system that allows players to compete against AI-controlled opponents or other players in a variety of events, including archery, melee, and jousting. The system also includes new mechanics for organizing and hosting tournaments, such as recruiting champions and setting up venues.
One of Paradox’s most ambitious projects is getting a new expansion – Crusader Kings III: Tours & Tournaments! While the base game has received many positive reviews, players are eager for more content. This DLC will bring more events that we can host or participate in, such as grand weddings or tournaments. In addition, this expansion will offer more armor and clothing elements.
Of course, Crusader Kings III: Tours & Tournaments is a bit expensive, since it costs almost as much as the base game itself. However, the amount of new features makes it worth the price, especially if you like the strategy RPG genre. Paradox is preparing more DLC to be released this year and next one, so we can say that the game will soon be much richer in content.
