Conscript brings a real touch of originality to the survival horror genre, with a historical background that is as striking as ever: the First World War. A young French soldier searches for his brother, who has not been heard from since the Battle of Verdun in 1916. It will immerse you into the heart of the trenches, underground tunnels and strategic locations occupied by the enemy, with demanding inventory management, an arsenal and equipment taken from the Great War.
This game revolves around the Battle of Verdun in WW1 where the protagonist is looking for his MIA brother in the midst of chaos. The realistic horror-like atmosphere of this game looks very somber which is fitting for the war setting.
It seems to be a very heavy story-driven game, so if you like that kind give it a try.
Conscript is a survival game made in pixel art and with isometric perspective that takes place during the first World War. You are a french soldier that will have to face the horrors of the war, scavenge for material to survive while traveling the trenches, solving puzzles and even occasionally fighting, but the game is basically a new take on the survival genre, combined with a good story. The pixel art part will smooth the cruelty of the setting that otherwise had been to harsh.
CONSCRIPT is a survival-horror, top-down WW1 game with pixel-art visuals. You play as a French soldier looking for his brother, navigate trenches, forts and buildings filled with useful items, enemies and puzzles to solve. Your inventory is limited, manage it well and choose your fights wisely. The game and the levels don’t seem to be linear, which rewards experimentantion and adds replayability. CONSCRIPT is a promising game that will most likely please old-school fans of the genre.
Once again, developers prove that pixel graphics can add a certain charm to the game. CONSCRIPT is set during the devastating events of WWI, where you play a soldier who has to survive while searching for his lost brother. The story is not linear, and you can replay the game multiple times to see all the endings. If you like choices and consequences games, you should definitely try Conscript.
