Assassin’s Creed Rogue is a stealth action game developed by Ubisoft Sofia and Ubisoft Kyiv, the 7th iteration of the franchise it is the darkest chapter in the series yet takes place in 18th century North America right in the middle of French and Indian War, step into the shoes of Shay Patrick Cormac a young member of the Brotherhood of Assassin’s who wants to shape the future of the American colonies but after a botched mission, Shay turns his back on the assassins who in response attempted to end his life. Assassin’s Creed: Rogue is a great ending to the American saga of the franchise and a great game in its own right. Ubisoft has also done a fine job with the PC port, making it an easy recommendation to any fan.

I do fear for the future of the series, though, as while Black Flag and Rogue’s gameplay might be stale at this point, Unity’s departures are headed in a very troubling direction. Rogue was quick and fun and I was a little sad when the main story ended. Juxtapose that to Unity, which I’m going to try finishing this week, after months of it sitting on my hard drive, untouched. I don’t have high hopes.
