Blades of Fire Confirmed For May 22 Launch With A Special Treat For PS Plus Members
Blades of Fire is set to release on May 22 for PC, Playstation 5, and Xbox Series. Preoders now live with a special treat for PS Plus members.
MercurySteam, the studio behind Metroid Dread and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, has teamed up with 505 Games to reveal their latest project, Blades of Fire. This new action-adventure RPG offers a deep weapon-forging system, tactical combat, and a richly detailed world.
Blades of Fire Releases On May 22
Blades of Fire has been confirmed for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on May 22, 2025. For PC players, the game will be available exclusively on the Epic Games Store at launch. Unfortunately, no Steam release was announced yet.
For those eager to dive into the game as soon as it’s launched, preorders are now live with some exciting bonuses. Preordering the game will grant players the Iron Paladin Attire for Aran, additional forging materials to enhance your weapons, the Hammerhead for Hyssop weapon, and the Lord of Steel Attire for Aran.
On top of that, gamers will also receive an automatic 10% preorder discount but not for Playstation 5 users. It does not mean however that all PS users are excluded in this. If you have an active Playstation Plus subscription, you can avail of the discount.
Blades of Fire follows Aran, the last hero who can wield steel, and his companion Adso, a scholar with knowledge of ancient myths and languages. The game’s standout feature is its highly customizable weapon crafting system where players can mix and match alloys, hilts, runes, and other materials to create the ultimate weapon. This system provides players with countless weapon variations to tackle over 50 unique enemy types.
The tactical combat lets you target specific enemy body parts, requiring careful planning and the right weapon to take down particular enemies. With an engaging narrative, epic battles, and a rich world full of mystery, Blades of Fire is shaping up to be a must-have game this year.
