Assassin’s Creed Origins is set in ancient Egypt, and to make things a little easier for the protagonist Bayek, he is accompanied by a pet eagle called Senu. This Assassin’s Creed Origins eagle is more than just a companion, or a tool for scouting, in fact, it can do more than you can imagine.

In previous Assassin’s Creed games, players use an ability called “Eagle Vision.” This ability is some sort of a sixth sense for the player, and people with this ability are able to sense how people relate to them – like if they’re allies, or a source of information. In Assassin’s Creed Origins, though, Bayek does not use this ability, as Eagle Vision supposedly was introduced through the assassins in Bayek’s time; instead, he has Senu the eagle.

Bayek can use Senu to fly through areas in order to uncover new locations, or even mark where enemies are situated. The good news is that Senu’s range is not limited, and she can go and fly as far away as she wants.

Aside from scouting locations, Senu can also help Bayek in combat by distracting, or even attacking enemies.
While Senu is your trusted pet companion in the game, there are also other animals which you can tame by using a special skill. More on this will be revealed as we get more details about it in the future.

Assassin’s Creed Origins will be released on 27 October 2017 on PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
