New Races and Origin Stories

Players are now able to choose from five different races – a first time in the history of a Divinity game. These races are: Human, Elf, Dwarf, Lizard and Undead.

The game also added origin stories, where players are able to choose different background stories for their characters. These stories will evolve and expand through the main campaign.

Be Whoever You Want to Be

You can fully customize your character with tons of different options available for you, from stats, abilities, talents, and skills! Character development is also classless.

The game’s new tag system also unlocks dialogue options as well as NPC reactions. Your character’s tag will be determined according to its gender, profession, race, as well as origin story.

Pen and Paper Freedom

The game gives you the freedom to make choices. You can talk to anyone (including animals, yes!), kill anyone, steal, and even sneak through quests. New mechanics are available, ensuring each and every situation can be solved in all ways possible.

4-Player Co-op

Co-op mode is now more fun as the game now supports up to 4 players. Having different origin stories, each of the players have different goals in co-op mode. Will you choose to cooperate or compete with them?

Improved Combat

Divinity Original Sin 2 is set thousands of years after the first game. The game’s story features a darker and more grounded narrative, and if in the first game you played as a Source Hunter, this time around you will play as Sourcerers.

PvP Arena Mode

The new multiplayer mode in Divinity Original Sin 2 allows up to four players to compete in turn-based combat set in intricate arenas. You can choose to play one hero from a set of predefined heroes and take on your foes in Free-for-All, Capture the Flag, and King of the Hill.

Elemental Interactions

Use your environment to your advantage! Take control of surfaces such as water, oil, and poison to create deadly traps. You can also either bless or curse a surface and have someone gain buffs, or earn penalties.

Game Master Mode

Game Master Mode allows you to create a reactive world. This mode will let you design and play in stories which you yourself have created – even newbies to the tool can master this in no time!
